Now Hoda, 58, shared a cryptic post on her social media.

The TV personality took to her Instagram on Monday to share a quote from Christopher Reeve.

The background showed a cloudy sky over a line of trees, but a rainbow peaked out and migrated from the sky to the grass.

The message was, “Once you choose hope, anything is possible.”

Hoda captioned the post: “Happy Monday xo,” and fans filled the comments with their support.

The journalist explained the reason for her recent absence while fighting back tears on Monday morning.

She told viewers, “My youngest daughter Hope was in intensive care for a few days and in the hospital for just over a week and I’m so thankful she’s home.”

“She’s back home and I’ve been waiting for this day and we’re watching her closely.”

“I realize how much gratitude you can have for people who have helped you when your child is sick…” Hoda continued.

“I am grateful for the Weill Cornell doctors who are amazing and the nurses and I am grateful to my family and friends like you who were there every day.”

Monday was also Savannah Guthrie’s first day back at anchor since she left earlier last week after testing positive for COVID.

On Friday, Hoda’s NBC colleague Al Roker, 68, told Page Six that the fan-favorite TV star was “doing well.”

The meteorologist continued: “She will be fine. She takes care of what she has to deal with and everything will be fine.”

This isn’t the first time a host has referenced Hoda’s quick and inexplicable disappearance from the show.

The star hadn’t been in the line-up for about two weeks, leaving many fans wondering why and when she would return.

Speaking on Wednesday’s broadcast, Craig Melvin, 43, briefly explained Hoda’s absence: “A lot of you have been asking about Hoda. Hoda is fine.

At the time, he gave no further details on his co-host’s whereabouts or future plans.

Hours later, photos showed Hoda looking serious as she picked up her six-year-old daughter, Haley Joy, from school.

In the absence of an explanation, fans came up with their own theories.

After spotting clues on social media, some believe she adopted another child.

“Did you have another baby, Hoda? This usually happens when you’re missing for two weeks. Hopefully it’s something good,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

Many people responded and said they “think the same thing”.

Another follower asked: “Ok. Seriously… what’s the matter with you? I know you have a right to privacy, but your true fans have noticed your absence and these posts are…concerned for you.”

“Maybe she’s expanding her family? She’s mentioned it before,” said one follower.
