Today’s Craig Melvin promises he’ll be on his best behavior after Carson Daly warned him about an important guest

TODAY’s Craig Melvin has vowed to behave after Carson Daly revealed a special guest would be on the morning show.

Craig, 43, made the comment Thursday while his colleague was delivering his daily newspaper pop start Segment.

During the segment, Carson, 48, shared a list of the latest entertainment news, which ended with a trailer for upcoming Amazon Prime series Citadel.

The host mentioned the thriller’s star-studded cast, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci and Richard Madden.

However, Carson did point out that he was particularly excited to see Priyanka, 40, in the production given his friendship with her husband Nick Jonas, 30.

The Jealous singer was previously a judge on NBC’s The Voice, where Carson serves as host.

“That’s my mate Nick’s wife, damn it!” Carson boasted about Priyanka’s intense fight scenes on the show.

He then revealed the actress would be appearing on Today later that month.

Craig seemed thrilled with the news, although he assured Carson that he and his co-hosts would behave themselves when Priyanka was in the studio.

“We’re going to be at our best,” the TV personality promised.

‘DATE NIGHT’

Craig only recently returned to the show after a series of absences.

Fans noted he was absent from the news desk on Tuesday, having previously filled in for his co-host Savannah Guthrie, 51.

His wife Lindsay Czarniak later shared the reason for her husband’s day off when she posted photos from their “date night.”

In the photo shared on Instagram, the couple was dressed to their nines as they posed on the carpet.

Lindsay, 45, wore a low-cut, floor-length dress with black spaghetti straps, while Craig wore a gray suit with a white shirt and yellow polka dot tie.

She captioned the post: “Had a whirlwind but really fun date night last night in Charlotte at the HoopTee charity’s Legends dinner.

“The work Hornets Pres/owner Fred Whitfield is doing to provide academic and athletic opportunities to underserved children is incredible.

“Loved meeting NBA legends and seeing old friends including NASCAR driver @tyler_reddick who won his first race of the season for 23X1 racing this weekend and had another opportunity to work with and his teammates celebrate. #hoops #hooptees #nba #nascar #basketball #datenight #giveback.”

She then shared snaps with Tyler Reddick and his wife Alexa DeLeon and other photos showed NBA legends being interviewed at the event.

WHERE IS CRAIG?

Craig and Lindsey took another tropical vacation earlier this month after Craig recovered from an illness.

The morning show host did not initially explain his whereabouts to fans, although he later shared photos from the trip on Instagram.

He captioned the post: “Had been crippled with a nasty virus this week but gives me time to post some pics [of] our wonderful last family vacation.”

Craig continued, “There’s a thing called winter break in the North East for kids. It’s also for adults. Enjoy the weekend everyone.”

The social media post included snaps of the TV star’s children enjoying their vacation in the Caribbean islands of St. Lucia.

Craig’s co-hosts, Dylan Dreyer, 41, Sheinelle Jones, 44, Hoda Kotb, 58, Al Roker, 68, and other Today contributors filled in for him while he was away.
