“I had a chance to chat with letwondermind about how to sit with emotions,” his tweet reads.

Melvin previously spoke about his life and struggles on David Kessler’s Parcast: Healing podcast, in which he compared his upbringing to his children’s childhoods.
“There’s not much of a comparison,” Melvin said on his Spotify podcast. “Because I grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. The son of a postman and a school teacher. On good days we were middle class.”
While discussing his childhood and family, Melvin mentioned growing up with his brother Lawrence, who died of colon cancer in 2020.
Lawrence died at the age of 43. Melvin shared the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post.

“We lost our older brother this week,” he said in the Post. “Lawrence Meadows was a husband (to Angela, his childhood sweetheart), father (to Addie, 11, and Lawson, 7), Baptist minister, entrepreneur,
“And one of the best people you’ve ever known.”
He wrote in the caption, “Colon cancer has robbed him and us of so much.”
“He’s spent a lot of time raising awareness about the disease over the last few years,” Craig added. “We will continue this fight. We love you brother.”
Meadows was first diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2016 at the age of 39.
As a family man that he is, Melvin was even choked up while speaking about his daughter on Today last month.
While speaking to co-stars about a significant family change in his household, he revealed that his five-year-old daughter, Sibby, would be starting kindergarten.
Sheinelle Jones asked Melvin, “Are you choking?”
He replied: “No, I’m not, I had something in my throat.”
“They are!” She said. “I’m glad you’re not here tomorrow, you’d be a mess!”

Craig has one other child, Delano, who was born in 2014. Delano and Sybil “Sibby,” who was born in 2016, is shared with his wife, Lindsay Czarniak.
The couple met in 2008 while they were both working at NBC4 and married in 2011.
