Today’s Craig Melvin is asking Al Roker to “use caution” during the “dangerous” live segment as the meteorologist continues to recover

TODAY star Craig Melvin is warning his co-host Al Roker to “be careful” while participating in a rigorous activity on live television.
During a “dangerous” live segment on Today, Craig, 43, asked Al, 68, to exercise caution as the meteorologist is still recovering from health issues.

On Wednesday’s episode of the show, Al, Craig, Sheinelle Jones, 44, and Dylan Dreyer, 41, got physical as they co-hosted the StartToday segment.
The segment focused on workouts that couples could do together to get their heart rate up.
The NBC personalities had fitness training couple Justin and Taylor Norris demonstrate types of workouts people could do with their partners while doing it next to them.
Dylan and Sheinelle were paired for the exercise demonstration while Craig and Al formed a team.

Some of the exercises the talk show hosts did together, like alternating chest presses and row pose pulls, were reasonably “easy” for the willing co-hosts to replicate.
However, as Justin and Taylor’s training moves increased in intensity, Craig became a more cautious participant.
As Justin and Taylor demonstrated a move that required one partner to lean against the other while the other balanced them while leaning forward, Craig spoke up.
Craig refused to repeat the move with Al, bluntly saying, “We’re not doing this one.”

Eventually, Craig made the move with Al after his co-host insisted they give it a try.
Just before they did the exercise, Craig told Al to “be careful” as he would be the one leaning against Craig.
Al ended up doing a couple of push ups against Craig’s hands while he was holding them to keep Al balanced as they both stood up.
The weatherman definitely showed his renewed strength during his recovery in tonight’s episode.
AL IS BACK & BETTER
Back in November, Al was absent from the morning show for nearly two weeks.
Without giving anyone an explanation, fans began to worry about him.
About halfway through the month, however, Al explained why he wasn’t there.
The host took to Instagram and revealed he had blood clots in his legs and lungs.
Al shared a photo of a bouquet of flowers and a coffee mug with the caption: “So many of you have thoughtfully asked where I’ve been.
“Last week I was taken to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots to my lungs.
“After some medical strokes, I am so fortunate to be receiving excellent medical care and on the road to recovery.
“Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend everyone,” he concluded.
Al was out until early January after being hospitalized twice for health problems.
When Al returned to Today in the first week of January, the beloved weatherman was joined for an interview by his wife Deborah Roberts.
While discussing his health crisis, Deborah opened up and revealed she was worried Al wouldn’t make it by Christmas.
“By a very raspy voice, and he was so gaunt and exhausted. He said, ‘I’m going to make a Spatchcock turkey for Christmas.’”
Deborah added: “And I didn’t know whether to burst into tears or just smile.
“I mean, that was and always will be the moment for me that I knew that this man…”

Al’s wife concluded, “I mean, I’m sitting here hoping he can make it by Christmas and he wants to make a turkey.”
Later in his comeback, Al received applause from his co-stars as he delivered his first weather report of the year.
