Carson explained that the remake will send Kelsey Grammer’s picky psychiatrist back to Boston, the city where we first met him on Cheers.
Al and Craig both cited the Cheers cast’s infamous way of greeting the character Norman Peterson by shouting “Norm!”
However, Al was only a fraction quicker than Craig, leading him to berate the Today weatherman.
Craig, 43, wagged his finger at his co-host and whined, “Oh, you got there first!”

Al then reeled off a list of Frasier quotes and said, “How’s your life, Norm?”
He also quoted Norm’s line, “It’s a dog and dog eat world and I wear milk bone underwear.”
The 68-year-old’s co-hosts burst out laughing as Carson said tot, “There you are.”
Earlier this week, Al competed with Craig and Savannah Guthrie in a bitter NFL rivalry to see which color should light up the Empire State Building.

It was announced on Sunday that the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will compete in the Super Bowl on February 12.
The Empire State Building glowed red and amber, then green and white to honor both teams.
Considering Philadelphia has beaten the New York Giants in every game this season, it was shocking to some fans to see New York honoring that team.
Savannah cheers for Philadelphia while Craig is all about Kansas City.
At some point, every TV star held up the jerseys of opposing teams.
“Well, I texted Craig last night,” Savannah revealed.
“I said, ‘If the Chiefs win, then Dell, his son, who loves [Patrick] Mahomes can bet [my kids] Vale and Charlie, so let’s make this interesting, start a little bet.
“They don’t know what they’re betting yet, but Craig said, ‘No money’.”
“A donut or something. I don’t know it.”
After Savannah said she wanted Al on her team, he unenthusiastically replied, “Yeah. I don’t care.”

The Today hosts erupted when the meteorologist looked into the camera and said, “Indeed, Empire State Building, you’re dead to me!”
“I’m moving to the Chrysler Building. I am joking. I am joking. But I’m very happy for you.”
