Today’s Al Roker abruptly abandons the co-hosts and leaves the studio mid-show when Craig Melvin reveals the reason for the departure
TODAY Al Roker quit the show on Monday morning after stopping by for his weather forecast.
Al was only available for part of the latest episode of the Today Show.

On Monday morning, Al was there just nine minutes into the show, working on the day’s weather report.
He discussed some of the showers coming to the area after Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie showered him.
Later in the show, he was also on the Today Show slot.
But when it came time for all the anchors to gather on the couch from which they normally report, Craig Melvin said Al was “on duty.”
It’s not clear what type of assignment Al was working on, but he had something to do – and will likely be back in the next day or so.
Dylan Dreyer was also missing and Vicky Nguyen took her place.
‘LOVE IS IN THE AIR’
Meanwhile, Al and his wife Deborah Roberts shared sweet photos from Robin Roberts’ wedding to her long-term partner.
The Good Morning America host and Amber Laign tied the knot in a lavish ceremony on Friday.

Al and Deborah attended the wedding and appeared to be beaming as they celebrated their longtime friends.
The ABC News reporter took to her Instagram on Sunday to share snaps from the beautiful event.
In the first picture, the journalist posed for a beautiful photo with her weatherman husband as they showed off their formal evening wear.
Deborah wore a multicolored dress with a silver necklace and Al looked dapper in a tweed suit with a white button-down shirt.
The couple smiled brightly as they hugged on the dance floor.
In a second picture, Deborah posed with brides Robin, 62, and Amber, 48, who sat at the reception table surrounded by other friends.
The GMA star wore a sophisticated white wedding dress with a sparkling diamond high neckline.
Her spouse wore a white dress with a taffeta skirt over which her napkin-like bib hung.
The group laughed together in a funny moment that was caught on camera.
Al and his wife posed for several more photos with friends and shared a special shot of Robin and Amber during their first dance.
The brides held hands and looked lovingly at each other as they walked across the dance floor.
Deborah captioned her post: “Love is in the air. What a beautiful celebration from @robinrobertsgma and @amberlaign1 as they made it official. Best wishes to the happy couple.”

Al also shared some exciting news outside of his hosting duties.
The US daytime TV co-host has his sexiness to thank for his latest achievement.
It was revealed that Al is one of the candidates for the news channel’s “Sexiest Grampa Alive” award in the news outlet’s popular “Sexiest Man Alive” edition.
On September 5, fans could begin voting for their favorite men in pop culture, including Sexiest TV Star, Sexiest Athlete, Sexiest TikTok Star, Sexiest Morning Show Host and more.
The Today presenter meets Pierce Brosnan (70), Kurt Russell (72) and Michael Douglas (78).
Al is the grandfather of two-month-old Sky Clara, who gave birth to his daughter Courtney, 36, over the summer.
