Today, the correspondent for Sharks Surrounding shows a spooky live underwater report as Savannah Guthrie warns he’s a ‘bait’

TODAY correspondent Tom Costello shocked his co-stars by giving a live on-air report underwater and surrounded by sharks on Wednesday.
Hoda Kotb insisted the TV personality was “brave” about taking on the assignment, while Savannah Guthrie warned he was a “bait.”
On Wednesday’s Today show, Tom reported from the Georgia Aquarium to provide insight into the importance of sharks in the ocean.
In one recorded clip, the author and a marine life expert were “submerged” underwater in a cage while sharks swam around them.
After the recorded section finished, Tom shared more information while submerged again, this time live on air.
He revealed that a tiger shark has been “circling” him “for the last 20 minutes” and that “they eat everything”.

“Everybody needs a fish story and this is mine,” Tom joked of his life as a TV news correspondent.
The Today show hosts were all sitting on the couch in their New York set, speaking to Tom, who wore waterproof headphones to hear them.
“I wonder who they’re using as bait,” Craig asked Melvin jokingly, before Savannah quickly replied, “Tom!”
On Tuesday, Savannah had even more on-air fun with her peers than She teased Craig because he was apparently trying to “get rid of” her.

The couple joined Hoda in discussing the upcoming retirement of Pat Sajack, 76, from Wheel of Fortune.
They all pondered the big question of who will take on the role of new host.
Craig mentioned that Pat’s 28-year-old daughter, Maggie, works on the show and even filled in for Vanna White.
Hoda said, “That would be interesting,” to which Craig replied, “Yeah! Keep it in the family.”
They also discussed the idea of a new celebrity host, similar to Mayim Bialik’s role in Jeopardy!
Craig suggested that one of his co-stars take over the gig, saying, “Savannah Guthrie is available!”
She jokingly shot back, “Are you trying to get rid of me?”
