Up to $3,000 in stimulus money is available now, but time is running out to apply.
The deadline is today at 11:59 p.m. PT to apply for the Seattle Relief Fund, but you need to live in Seattle to qualify.
In late October 2021, the city of Seattle launched the new Seattle Relief Fund.
In total, $16 million will be used to help low-income residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This includes people who cannot access state unemployment, do not have health insurance, do not receive federal stimulus payments, or experience housing instability or health crises. mental health.
Seattle Mayor Jenny A. Durkan said: “As the first US city to be significantly impacted by COVID-19, Seattle is at the forefront of rising up to address health and economic challenges. community caused by this pandemic.
“We were the first city to respond quickly to directly support our residents and small businesses with grants, innovative new programs like grocery vouchers and rental assistance. as well as direct cash assistance.”
The money for the Seattle Relief Fund is part of a $25 million investment in the Seattle Rescue Plan that was approved by the city council in June.
Are you eligible?
The Foundation is open to everyone who lives in Seattle regardless of your citizenship or immigration status.
Eligible applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
You must have income below 50% of the Seattle area median income, less than $40,500 for an individual or $57,850 for a family of four.
You must also have at least one of the following that applies to the individual or to a member of the household:
- Live within Seattle’s boundaries
- Enroll in the Seattle Promise or enroll in Seattle Public Schools
- Be an artist or cultural worker owning or renting an art studio or rehearsal space within Seattle boundaries at any time as of March 2020
How much will people get?
The City of Seattle will give out $1,000 to $3,000.
