Presenters Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Carson all tried out a Starbucks order in a clip from a Today episode shared to the Today Instagram account.
The NBC personalities tried to order Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal, 47, at Starbucks, which happened to be “30 shots of espresso on ice,” as Carson explained.
Savannah, 51, Craig, 43, Al, 68, and Hoda, 58, all looked at their drink skeptically and seemed reluctant to take a sip.
When Al, Craig, Savannah, and Hoda finally drank it, they almost gagged.

Savannah firmly stated that she would “rather lick” her “shoe” than drink the coffee.
Hoda admitted the coffee needed “cream in it or something.”
All the moderators agreed that the coffee wasn’t that tasty.
Although the reaction from Craig, Savannah, Al and Hoda drew a reaction from fans, more fans reacted to the 49-year-old host saying the word “espresso.”

FANS REACTION
One dodgy fan wrote in the Today post’s comments section, “Who keeps saying eXpresso?” and made fun of Carson’s pronunciation.
Another fan co-signed in a reply: “Exactly! You are [Carson’s] a presenter/journalist on a talk show.
“Pronunciation should be THE MAIN skill of your job.”
A third person added, “It drives me crazy when people mispronounce espresso.”
Someone else corrected: “Agreed!! It’s es-presso. Not ex-presso.”
One person joked, “EXpresso” got more attention than Pedro Pascal’s Starbucks order.”
THINGS ARE GETTING HANDY
This wasn’t the first time Carson had an awkward moment on Today.
Last year, during a cooking segment, Carson appeared to have been snubbed at an awkward live show moment.
During the show, Craig introduced author Kevin Curry and revealed he would be demonstrating how to turn a fried chicken into three meals.
At the beginning of the segment, Kevin told Carson, “I’ll get you a plate,” as he winked at him.
Craig then repeated, “We’re about to bring Carson Daly a plate over here,” when his co-host Hoda chimed in, saying, “Don’t worry, we’re sharing!”
As the camera panned out, Carson appeared to be sitting in the corner against the wall on the other side of the cooking table.
Meanwhile, Hoda and her co-host Savannah sat together across the table and seemed much more involved in the segment as they enjoyed plates of Kevin’s delicious-looking food.

Towards the end of the demonstration, Carson made a brief remark when he said to Kevin, “And you spent about $2 on it!” after Craig describes all three dishes.
Kevin laughed nervously and replied, “Not like $2, but yeah, per meal, you’re making about $3 per meal on average for all of that.”
