TikToker pretends to be a police officer and gets into trouble

Peshawar police on Sunday arrested a TikToker who impersonated a police officer by donning a police uniform in a video stunt in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa capital.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Warsak, the suspect “Roohullah” posed as a police officer and uploaded videos in police uniform to the popular video-sharing platform TikTok.
Police said the suspect, who is in police custody, expressed regret for his actions and promised not to make such videos in the future.
The suspect also sent a message to other TikTokers not to create and upload videos in police uniform.
Police have registered a case against the suspect after recovering a police uniform and a mobile phone from his possession.
TikTokers – or users of the platform – in Pakistan have uploaded videos that have sparked controversy, and this wasn’t the first time a person was caught for impersonating a law enforcement officer on the video-sharing platform.
TikTok continued to top the charts with the highest number of downloads in Pakistan in 2022, significantly surpassing Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta Messenger.
With 39 million downloads last year, TikTok maintained its dominance over Facebook, which lagged behind by more than 7 million, while Snapchat took third place on the list with almost 30 million downloads, a growth of 51.26% compared to 2021.
