TikTok fans react to bizarre Google Earth find – there is a simple explanation for that

TIKTOK users are crazy about “the guy in the white hat” who was spotted walking around Google Earth.

But it turns out the stranger has made a name for himself among Google Earth fans.

In this case, the man walked in circles around the Google Earth camera as it documented the world.

This has resulted in people being able to see eight versions of the same man in Street View, with facial expressions and positioning becoming increasingly intense.

Playing around with the Google Earth camera on their mission seems to have become a hobby for the gentleman.

The anonymous lurker can be found in almost 100 locations on Google Earth and wears – you guessed it – the same white cowboy hat.

The true identity of the jet setter is unclear.

Known only as “the guy in the white hat”, he has become a prolific “Where’s Wally” type character on Google Earth.

GeoGuessr, a website that lets players guess where in the world they are by looking for nearby clues, has an entire map themed around “the guy in the white hat.”

The map includes 98 locations where he can be found everywhere from the US and Colombia to the UK and the Netherlands.

Thousands of people have tried the map in search of “the man in the white hat” and his whereabouts.

Often hard to miss, the man takes on a variety of bizarre poses to make unsuspecting Google Earths users laugh behind their screens.

He can be spotted on masts, in trains or on decorative cannons.

But in some places he can be more distant — or even confused with any other man who happens to be wearing a wide-brimmed white hat in that very corner of the world on the same day.
