She said: “When Eva was 5 years old, this year she went to Christmas more often and asked about how Santa would come into our house.

“Years ago, we had a magic key hanging outside the front door, however, when I went to get it, I couldn’t find it so Eva started to get frustrated and wonder how the old man did. Noel can come in.

“Seeing her sad, I decided to try making a fireplace for her.

“I had some boxes in the attic and got some from friends’ work and started making one.

“I don’t have a clue where to start, but I have a picture in my head of what I want it to be.

“It took me about two weeks straight, sticking and painting between childcare duties.

“It will always be a Christmas to remember now that the mummy makes Santa’s hearth.
