Thousands of Americans Receive $200 Checks Under an Approved Direct Pay Plan – See How You Qualify

THOUSANDS of Americans in New York are set to receive a $200 direct payment by December.

More than 25,000 seniors in Onondaga County who are eligible for the extended STAR property tax exemption will receive the check.

Homeowners to qualify for Enhanced STAR must be at least 65 years old and have an income of $92,000 or less.

Officials have announced that residents will receive one check per household as a relief amid the Covid pandemic and cost-of-living crisis, Syracuse.com reports.

Lawmaker Patty Chase said, “Hopefully it (the payment) will bring some relief.”

Last month, the New York legislature approved measures that will allow millions of homeowners to receive STAR rebate checks.

The tax break is sent to those earning less than $250,000 a year.

It is an additional payment on top of the basic STAR tax exemption.

Inflation has hit 8.5 percent in the US, and states across the country are offering a helping hand to cash-strapped citizens.

More than 500,000 Americans in Minnesota have until July 22 to apply for a $750 stimulus payment.

Official estimates are that a total of 667,000 checks will be sent.

According to the Duluth News Tribune, state lawmakers approved a $500 million package that rewards Minnesotans who worked at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

CASH RELIEF

Workers who can request the payments include healthcare workers, teachers and janitors.

Payments are said to total $750 but can increase to as much as $1,500 per person depending on the number of applicants.

To be eligible for the checks, employees must have worked 120 hours between March 15, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

In addition, applicants must not have received unemployment benefits for more than 20 weeks.

Workers who have earned more than $85,000 and have not worked directly with Covid patients cannot apply for payment.

Millions of Californians will receive payments worth up to $1,050 in the coming months after lawmakers approved the state’s $300 billion budget.

Around 20 million taxpayers are expected to receive checks ranging from $200 to $1,050.

Virginia single taxpayers will get a refund of up to $250 after Gov. Glenn Youngkin enacted the state budget.

Meanwhile, married couples will receive a one-time payment of $500.

The rebates are scheduled to be sent out in late September, and those who filed their taxes before July 1 should expect to receive them by October at the latest, according to WLJA.

Virginians must file their taxes by Nov. 1 to be eligible for the rebate, officials warn.
