Thomas Tuchel says Roman Abramovich selling Chelsea was ‘the right decision’ but insists it will NOT affect his squad

THOMAS TUCHEL says Roman Abramovich is making the ‘right decision’ to sell Chelsea.
But the Blues boss insists the Russian player’s departure will NOT affect his squad.
Abramovich confirmed on Wednesday that he sold out after a 19 years full of titles at Stamford Bridge.
The billionaire also revealed that he will write off a debt of 1.5 billion pounds Chelsea owes him.
And Abramovich added them all net profit from sales will be donated to the victims of the war in Ukraine.
The announcement comes just hours before Chelsea’s 3-2 FA Cup win over Luton Town.
The Blues looked shaky as they were forced to come from behind, with Abramovich’s statement still fresh.
However, Tuchel believes his players have not – and will not – be affected by it.

And he also feels that if Abramovich believes it is the right decision to sell Chelsea, it must be the correct move.
Tuchel told BBC One: “I probably heard it a little earlier than you but it’s still so close to the start, we’ve been hearing the rumours all day long, seen on TV, when we’ve had team meetings and eaten. drink together.everyone talks about it.
“It’s big news, let’s wait and see for the best and see what the day brings.
“I think every decision he makes is the right one, it’s his choice, his club, I don’t have to comment.
“In the short term for us as a team, staff and players, hopefully not too much [disruption]maybe it won’t even change anything, but the situation right now is out there and a big one so I can understand a lot of the reports.
“We try to eliminate noise and stay focused, which isn’t always easy, but we showed today we did.
“We don’t live on an island, players have internet – some are more concerned, to play on the same day a match where concentration is absolutely important is not easy and makes it difficult. into a bigger show.”

On Chelsea’s mixed performance at Luton, Tuchel added: “I liked the way we played, we were undaunted and patient, and constantly looking for spaces and decisive opportunities.
“We deserved to win, it was a good team performance, a very humbling performance, I like that.
“Every game we play is the most important and that’s why they are on the pitch and it’s good for them to score.”
