The life story of MIKE TYSON will be the subject of a Hulu series this summer.
And an epic new trailer has landed, showing some of Iron Mike’s incredible highs and ultimate lows.
The former world heavyweight champion is played by Trevante Rhodes in an eight-episode series.
And the trailer showed that there is no theme from Tyson’s busy life.
The 77-second clip plays to the song “I’ve Gotta Be Me” and captures moments from the 55-year-old’s journey.
This includes when he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear in the ring in 1997 and when he was in prison for a rape in 1992.
Tyson’s famous pet tiger can also be seen in the short clip ahead of the series’ August 25 launch.
Showrunner Karin Gist told Entertainment Weekly that the show will “delves deeper into Tyson’s life” and “not glorify it.”
Gist said: “We never tried to say Mike Tyson is a hero or Mike Tyson is a villain.
“Our goal was to take a very complicated and controversial character and try to get behind the scenes of what he has been praised and vilified for, while staying true to our North Star that nobody is a thing.
“Bringing the spotlight and pulling stories like this out of the shadows is critical to moving forward and taking the conversation to the next level.
“We wanted people to see Mike’s own guilt in his life and society’s guilt as well” and “let our audience decide what they think and feel.”
But Tyson condemned the series in a statement on Instagram back in February.
He said: “Hulus’ announcement to do an unauthorized mini-series of the Tyson story without compensation, while unfortunate, is not surprising.
“This announcement, in the wake of social inequalities in our country, is a prime example of how corporate greed at Hulu has led to this unmusical cultural misappropriation of Tyson’s life story.”
