Third storm in a week set to hit Britons as Met Office issues MORE weather warnings

In memory of council worker’s father, 59 years old, killed in Typhoon Eunice

TRIBUTES was paid to a council worker who was killed in Hurricane Eunice after he was crushed by a tree.

Billy Kinsella, 59, was clearing debris on a road near his home in Co Wexford, Ireland when he was tragically killed.

The father of one child, a Wexford County Council employee, helped at the scene of another fallen tree in Ballythomas when he was seriously injured.

Councilor Sinn Fein Fionntan O Suilleabhain, who lives close to Mr Kinsella and grew up with his family, paid tribute to the “quiet family man”.

“The people in the area have been devastated. What a tragedy for his wife Rita and their only child, Conor,” he said.

“Billy died in the line of duty while out on council work and attending the scene of a fallen tree.

“He died right around the corner where we were both living and he died in a way that made it most tragic.

“He comes from a distinguished family and is very hardworking. He is a quiet family man and devoted to his son, whom he has brought to sporting events all over the place.

“Conor plays for the Wexford under-20s and will be heavily involved in the GAA, much like Billy’s father before him.

“Everybody was shocked.”
