“They have a clear style of play” – assistant coach Odisha FC ahead of their ISL clash with FC Goa

Odisha FC have lost two head-to-head matches for the first time in the current version of the Indian Super League (ISL). Their next clash is against FC Goa, who recently had to give up their head coach. However, the Gaurs are the slightly more stable side when it comes to this game.

Odisha FC will want to return to the form of the beginning of the season. Head coach Kiko Ramirez and assistant coach Joaquin ‘Kino’ Garcia Sanchez spoke to the media ahead of their ISL clash with FC Goa. Kino believes FC Goa will be a tough opponent with their approach this season. He say:

“They have a clear style of play. We’ve worked on that. Now, they’ve changed coaches. So we need to see if there’s something new in their approach.”

The assistant of Odisha FC was apprehensive when considering the change of FC Goa’s coaching staff as an advantage for the Gaurs. He feels that this change will be a problem for the Gaurs and that is something they have yet to figure out.

Odisha FC head coach wants to improve the defense

Odisha FC have only kept one clean sheet in their six appearances so far. Head coach Kiko Ramirez believes high-scoring games are fun for spectators to witness, but for coaches, it’s worrying. On that note, he said:

“Of course, I don’t want to concede any goals. This is one of the goals not only for me. All the other coaches in this league are too.”

One good thing for the Kalinga Warriors is that they don’t have any injury concerns during this build-up. Kiko Ramirez informed the media that some players may not have fully recovered from their problems but will be available to choose from.
