The world’s biggest lottery winner Edwin Castro is unrecognizable in throwback pics before hitting the $2 billion jackpot

EDWIN Castro’s world was turned upside down after winning a whopping $2 billion in a historic lottery draw.
Now, throwback photos of the newly minted billionaire have shown the winner in his Scout gear years before he hit the jackpot.

Photo shows Edwin as a young boy in his Boy Scout uniform, decorated with badges and smiling.
Young Edwin sports a buzz cut – a far cry from his current looks with long black hair often tied in a ponytail.
Friends previously described Edwin to TMZ as “a quiet guy with a kind heart.”
He’s all grown up now and at just 30 years old bought two multi-million dollar homes with incredible features.
After winning the November drawing, Edwin opted for a one-time lump sum instead of the tiered payments.
It made him an overnight billionaire – with a higher net worth than celebs like Cristiano Ronaldo, Madonna and Tom Cruise.
In addition to his fancy new car, he’s also bought two multi-million dollar properties in California.
One was a $25.5 million property in Hollywood Hills — which features a game room, wine cellar, gym, infinity pool, and spa.
It features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms with 13,500 square feet of living space.
And the other was a $4 million mansion overlooking the San Gabriel Mountains.
The 1953 home is Japanese style with five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
It has a saltwater pool, a movie theater, and a huge garage for over a dozen great cars — including its beautiful vintage white Porsche.
He is said to have employed three bodyguards who monitor him around the clock.
Edwin has not given any interviews since his massive win – but did issue a statement via Powerball praising his initiative for schools.
He said: “As shocked and thrilled as I am to have won the Powerball drawing, the real winner is the California public school system.
“As someone who has received the rewards of being educated in the California public education system, it is gratifying to hear that the California school system has also benefited greatly from my victory.”
His winnings haven’t been entirely smooth – he’s being sued by a man who claims Edwin stole his lottery ticket.

Jose Rivera also bought a ticket at the same store on Nov. 7, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.
Despite the allegations, California Lottery officials remain confident that Castro is the “rightful winner” of the massive prize.
