CHICAGO – The spirit of the festive season fills the Sunday atmosphere at Four Seasons Hotel.
It’s a fun-filled holiday celebration for one goal – a fundraiser for a program that helps survivors of domestic violence soar.
Rebecca Darr is the president and chief executive officer of WINGS Program, Inc., which provides safe housing and support to domestic violence survivors.
“Today, we celebrate our 18thorder Darr said.
“Over 18 years, we have raised $11.5 million to fund emergency shelters at our housing services throughout the Chicagoland area,” said Darr. “We have a safe house in Chicago, and we have a home in the suburbs to allow people to escape domestic violence.
This family event features music, laid-back dogs, and a visiting Santa.
Darr says anyone experiencing domestic violence should know that they can contact them at any time for help.
“Christmas should be a time when everyone is happy and healthy, and it can be very stressful for families experiencing domestic violence,” says Darr. “Don’t wait until after Christmas. We are here to help. Our shelters were founded with gifts for children and we want to help.”
