As Season 1 of “The Wheel of Time” continues to unfold, our characters have entered a rather precarious position. At the end of Episode 6, “Flame of Tar Valon”, Moiraine (Pike), Lan (Henney), Loial (Hammed Animashaun) and others enter The Ways: an actual outer area accessed through Waygates where they hope to reach the Eye of the World to reunite with a being known as the Dark One. If that sounds like a daunting task to embark on, that’s because it is and it makes “The Dark Along the Ways” a real game-changer.
“We’re going to enter at least four worlds you haven’t seen on the show,” teased Rosamund Pike in a recent interview with TVLine, noting that Robert Jordan’s wild creations will soon take hold and allow the story to continue in tense, dangerous ways. Pike also mentioned that the episode will introduce completely new concepts of the “Wheel of Time” mythology that have never been seen on the TV adaptation, concluding, “We suddenly realized ‘new concepts’ about time’, I’m going to play on the idea of ’Wheel of Time.'”
Given Pike’s comments, it’s safe to say that “The Dark Along the Ways” will prove to be a pretty entertaining episode – a transformative episode of “The Wheel of Time” as we know it.
