A police officer was killed and up to six officers injured while responding to an armed hostage situation in Kentucky, while two people died in a mass shooting in Chicago.


Cops revealed four adults and a teenager rushed to hospital after being shot.

Police said four other victims were taken to hospital by medics.

Cops have since identified a white Honda Pilot as a vehicle of interest as part of their investigation, Fox19 reported.

Police believe the car was stolen from Jersey City.

Police do not know how many shooters were involved in the incident as their investigation continues.


Gunfire erupted in Chicago early Friday morning when two people died in a shooting near a fire station.

About five men got into an argument with an unidentified man, who started shooting at the group, Fox32 reported.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the head, while a 26-year-old victim was shot in the chest. They were transported to the hospital where they died.

The three other victims are in good condition, according to police.

Cops revealed there were three other victims – all said to be in good condition.

Police have not detained any potential suspects while their investigation continues.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old teenager was killed and a 13-year-old boy was injured after being shot Thursday night in Bronzeville, Chicago.

Police said they were attacked while sitting on the sidewalk, ABC7 reported.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and took the older boy to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not arrested any suspects and a Chicago Police Department investigation is ongoing.

Kentucky hostage situation

Lance Storz, 49, has been charged with murder and the murder of a police officer after an armed hostage situation Thursday in Allen, Kentucky.

Police officers rushed to the scene as they attempted to serve a court-issued warrant related to a domestic violence situation on Thursday.

Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt announced that a deputy was killed in the shooting. He has not been identified.

Meanwhile, several officers have been taken to the hospital where their injuries are being treated.

Storz was also accused of attacking a service animal.

Police said the suspect’s wife and daughter were safely rescued from the property.

Matt Gayheart of the Kentucky Police Department described the situation as “dynamic”.

He told KFVS12, “A lot of stuff to scramble and go through before we had more information.”

Officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed reports that a shootout broke out and one person barricaded himself.


Two teenagers, 11 and 13, were stabbed to death after an argument broke out in a New York City apartment complex in Brooklyn on Thursday.

Police told ABC7 the 11-year-old was stabbed in the chest and back.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition, but police say he is stable now.

The 13-year-old suffered a hand injury that is not life-threatening.

Police are investigating whether he was the suspect and no arrests have been made.

Sharaya, who lives in the condominium, told ABC7: “We don’t need violence, we need to get rid of these guns, these knives.”


Police officers killed a man armed with a gun in a parking lot in Springfield, Virginia on Thursday.

Police asked the suspect to drop his gun about 20 times as he locked himself in a limousine, the Washington Post reported.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said police had been pursuing the suspect since Sunday.

Officers received a tip that the man would be in Springfield and saw him standing in the parking lot.

They used a squad car to stop the limousine from leaving the area.

As police surrounded his car, the man refused to hand over the gun and two officers shot him.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Miami Beach Police said gunfire erupted just after midnight local time.

Police also recovered a firearm at the scene.
