A BRIDE and her caterer have been arrested after guests were left ill after being served allegedly drug-infused food.
Danya Glenny, the bride, and caterer Joycelyn Bryant are now facing charges of tampering, negligence and supplying marijuana.
Guests at the Florida event, held on February 19, said they were dancing and having a good time when they suddenly felt weird.
“We all just enjoy and celebrate our friend’s success on the dance floor and have fun catching the bouquet,” Miranda Cady told WFTV 9 News.
“I was just getting a little dizzy like the room was spinning a bit and things were distorted.
A man “felt like he had drugs in him,” according to WFTV.
KTVU News reported that another guest said he felt “sick and high.”
Several people who complained of stomach problems and vomiting were treated by first responders at the scene, while others were transported for treatment.
Glenny reportedly told MPs she did not consent to the food being laced with marijuana, although they are now saying otherwise.
Police removed glassware and food samples from the event, including chocolate-wrapped strawberries, custard desserts and lasagna.
As it turned out, the food was actually laced with marijuana.
Cady is now looking for an explanation and an apology for what happened at the wedding, which was supposed to be an event full of drug-free dining and fun.
“I texted myself once just in case I didn’t make it through the night,” she told WFTV. “Whatever the reason, I think people just want an explanation.”
