The Walking Dead: World Beyond Recap: Part 2, Episode 10 – Finals

After Sunday, there will be no “overshoot” for AMC’s The Walking Dead: World Beyond. AMC limited series ends two seasons with an episode that affects the killing of the two main characters, threatens to end season three and fall into a terrifying explosion from the distant past – all the way back to Season 1 of the mother ship. Who lives, who dies, and who shows up unexpectedly? Continue reading…

‘YOU HAVE REALLY GOOD TO BE A HERO’ | When “The Last Light” began, Jadis ordered that all radio frequencies be blocked within an eight-mile radius despite the fact that doing so would also interfere with the CRM’s ability to communicate. At the checkpoint, Dennis – hey, he’s still alive after all! – made the fatal mistake of dreaming of a future with Huck. (We all know that any talk about tomorrow on Walking corpses program is equivalent to putting on a red shirt Star Trek. Right, Percy?) When Iris, Hope, Silas, and Elton arrive with antibiotics for Dennis, it is determined that they need to travel three miles to stay safe when the explosives explode. As for Huck, she said, “The people inside CR had no idea what the military was doing outside their walls. Dennis and I will make sure they make it. Before the kids took off, Hope and Huck shared what unfolded like a near-forgivable moment when they were about to happen. “I’m proud of you,” Huck says, admitting that it may not be worth much, all things considered. At the last moment, Silas decided to stay. He will help Huck and Dennis, who has clearly become the sort of dad he’s always dreamed of.

the Walking dead world beyond recap season 2 episode 10 finaleAt the scene, Felix had just arrived to help Leo and the two scientists get dressed – the rest had already boarded truck #2 – when the CRM showed up with Newton in the lead. Before long, Will joins the gunfight, and Felix decides to run away to lure his enemies. The ploy worked, and in the end, Felix found himself cornered into a back gate where a swarm of pedestrians groaned. (Why not?) “You said you would kill me if you had your chance,” Newton scoffed, “so come on.” Instead of fighting Newton, Felix opened the gate and released the walkers. Only after Newton was attacked did they really come into play, with Felix eventually fearing his opponent and walking away unhurt (as the walkers were too caught up in the intestines of the dead to care. mind him anymore…seems). Back at the testing facility, the kids all spoke at length to Silas, though Elton sweetly noted, “I don’t think this is goodbye.” Yes, not Silas was shot in the head like poor Percy! When Jadis received word that the gas was in danger, Huck discovered that when the CRM jammed the walkers, it also damaged the fuses. So she sent Dennis and Silas to the emergency weapon cache to get her a timer. Or she said.

the Walking dead world beyond recap season 2 episode 10 finale‘NO PROBLEM THEY TELL YOU, YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THEM’ | When Jadis landed at the inspection facility with the CRM, she got into a tough fight with Huck. Why jam? Because in the middle of that, Huck threw Anne a backup weapon in the first place. Incredible strategy, that. Huck seems to think she can defeat her sinister foe with insults. “This has always been me,” she spat in Jadis’ face. “You traded someone for CR, didn’t you?” Yes, Jadis admitted. She’s got someone special – an A. (Rick screams!) But she told him he was a B so he wouldn’t end up in Elizabeth’s lab. However, Huck is just as bad, Jadis insists. Could be worse. Her credentials helped CRM defeat the Campus Colony in a single defeat. In the end, their argument/fight ends with Jadis fatally stabbing Huck with his free hand. Only then did Jennifer reveal that she used her pop clock as a timer. Jadis was only seconds away from being turned into a dim screen. (Thankfully, she was out of CRM before the explosion; I know Jadis was written in a challenging way, but I love some Pollyanna McIntosh.)

As the explosion reverberates around, Dennis sees a lot of gas coming from the weapons house and learns why Huck kicked him and Silas away. Hopefully, Iris and Elton are still too close to the explosion to be safe, but get through! Indira and Asha arrive promptly with gas masks. Only – d’oh! – Elton moves to protect Hope from a walker and gets bitten badly by himself. (Shit, where’s his cape when he needs it?!) Back in the weapon cache, the CRM fell on Dennis and Silas, so the older guy told his agent son to shoot him. Dennis said. He was bleeding like a wine box without a faucet. Silas should have told them that Dennis kidnapped him and that he would do better than his captor. “Make them see you as a hero,” he said. “It’s how you live.” And in what is arguably the most poignant moment of the series, Silas tried to refuse but ultimately did as he was told and shot his father dead. (Yes, I cried. Sue me.)

the Walking dead world beyond recap season 2 episode 10 finale‘WE ARE THE FINAL LIGHT OF THE WORLD’ | At the scientists hideout, Elton’s arm was amputated, and though it was an act of touch and move, as you’d expect, he made it through. As it turns out, he also applied the medicine that Indira needed to keep her pulse. (If that Iris didn’t get his kiss from Asha, I don’t know.) Iris quickly left with a group from Perimeter to blow the whistle for CRM in Portland. “All of this, it doesn’t change us,” she told Hope as she left. “It just shows us who we are.” Then they threw each other the strangely sweet bird back to the bygone days. Then when Elton did the voice, we saw Iris and her team arrive in suburban Portland, we saw Felix and Will happily ever after (they even adopted a dog!), we were got to see Hope’s advancement as post-apocalyptic Doogie Howser, and we got to see Silas’ new life as a CRM soldier. Unsurprisingly, it happened that, although Jadis already knew he was spinning the yarn that Dennis had instructed him to, she still kept an eye on him. “I can’t wait,” she said, “for you to see who you’re going to be.” (Yes, Pollyanna McIntosh can sell matches to a person on fire.)

the Walking dead world beyond recap season 2 episode 10 finaleIn the city, Jadis goes to see Elizabeth, who at first seems to want to offer her condolences to Huck. But when the lieutenant colonel begins to tell of how she has done monstrous things for a civilization she realizes may never recover, Jadis puts her cards on the table. . “Survivors find opportunity in disaster,” she observes. “They don’t break. They don’t let the weak become strong. They wait for the strong to become the weak.” That’s what she did. She had seen that the strongest person she had ever met could be vulnerable, and she used it. (Yes, I’m calling it; if Rick doesn’t turn out to be Beale, I’ll eat his Carl’s Judith’s hat.) “That’s what I’m doing now,” Jadis added—by arresting Elizabeth for treason. The scammer guessed that the elderly woman had brought her to be his lover, but with no friends, no child, only ambition, Elizabeth chose the wrong maniac. “Bill will take care of this,” Elizabeth hissed. “Who do you think signed your arrest warrant?” shoot back Jadis. (Yes, Bill/Beale is totally Rick, right?)

the Walking dead world beyond recap season 2 episode 10 finale‘DAY WILL COME WHEN WE WILL DO THIS’ | Then, according to the icon after the end of the credits, a woman broke into a dilapidated lab and started copying files onto a laptop. In a video she watched, it was none other than Dr. Edwin Jenner from Season 1 of Zombie was seen talking about demand for newer “patterns”. But to be honest, he doesn’t have much to say that seems to be too important. The big problem is that this woman wants to take his notes – and the man who comes after her doesn’t want her to take them. Speaking French, he asked her if she was one of the doctors? Oui. Is she a member of Team Primrose? No, Violet. Does she know where the Primrose team is? No, they weren’t here when “you all did what you did,” they attended a conference in Ohio. She was tired of hiding and had hoped they would be at the lab when she returned. “They must be dead,” grumbled the man, adding, “We will not imprison them like the others, we will kill them.” And he scoffed at her hopes that they could “finish this.” “You started this,” he scoffed even though we couldn’t technically see him taunt. “All teams. Then you made it worse. He then shot her and left, at which point she regained her senses and we learned that they were in a French laboratory (not a French lab). exactly a surprise because they spoke French).

So, what do you think of the finale of The world is farther away? Score in the poll below, then comment with your hypothesis: Is Rick Major General Beale? Is this really the end of the story? I think not.
