The View’s Whoopi Goldberg is telling fans to stop calling her a ‘racist’ after she shared new views during a heated TV chatter

THE View host Whoopi Goldberg has told fans to stop calling her a “racist” after speaking out about the tragic death of Tire Nichols.
At the beginning of Monday’s broadcast, Whoopi began the program by speaking about the horrific video showing Tire, 29, being beaten and kicked in the face by police officers while crying out for his mother.

“I get that question far too often around this table, but you know when will brutality lead to police reform from the ground up?” asked Whoopi.
“Because it doesn’t matter if it’s a white cop or a black cop, it’s a problem for the police and the police themselves.
“It seems like things don’t make sense to people unless it’s someone they can feel or recognize, but how often do we have to … we have to see white people get beat up too before anyone does anything.” ?” she continued.
Whoopi then looked straight into the camera and said: “I’m not suggesting that so don’t write to us and tell me you know what a racist I am.

“I’m just asking, is that what people need to see to wake up and realize this affects us all?” she added.
Whoopi co-host Sunny Hostin looked somber and admitted she made a decision not to watch the video.
“I have to say that I couldn’t bring myself to watch the video because I’ve seen so many of them,” Sunny said.
“As a mother to a black son who is 6’1″ and 20 years old, my worst nightmare is probably what’s in this video,” Sunny said while holding back tears.

Sunny continued, “And there are studies that show that Black people who watch these videos constantly suffer from PTSD because of what’s called ‘linked destiny’ because we see our loved ones in the video.”
Sunny spoke with a trembling voice and tear-filled eyes.
“But I think there are people who need to see the video, those people who can decide that they’re not going to see it because they know that’s not going to happen to their kid.”
“These people need to look at it,” she insisted, “to get real police reform that would include personal liability for cops.”
“What most people don’t know is that if something like this happens and a civil settlement is reached, we pay for that civil settlement,” Sunny explained. “It comes from taxpayers’ money. It doesn’t come from the police budget.”
“If that changes and we get some energy for this kind of reform, I think it will change,” the host concluded.
Ana Navarro then decided to speak her mind when she proclaimed, “Humans would have done more to help a dog than they would have done to help Tire Nichols out… and that is inhumanity.”
Ana sounded emotional and continued: “And what we saw in this case is that good cops can be any gender, any class, any color and bad cops can be any gender or any color.
“And those cops were blue before they went black! And these cops were part of the Scorpion Unit and they couldn’t have been named more aptly because they were full of venom.”
WHOOPI HAS YOUR WORD
This isn’t the first time Whoopi has told viewers not to call her a “racist.”
During an October 2022 episode of the show, Whoopi joked about how different whites and blacks react to ghosts.
The 67-year-old said: “You’ll find that a lot of the people in haunted houses when they’re told to get out happen to be white.”
As the audience erupted in laughter, Whoopi continued, “White people don’t know.
Her co-host Sunny pointed her finger at Whoopi in agreement and nodded her head.

Whoopi then turned to the camera and said sternly, “Before you all start texting us about what a racist I am…
“This is done with humor. Get a sense of humor!”
