THE VIEW’S Whoopi Goldberg has fans worried she won’t be returning to the show after disappearing in new promotional video.
Whoopi and the rest of the cast of The View are taking a break before season 27 begins September 5th.
A video was released Wednesday to promote the upcoming season, featuring panelists Joy Behar, 80, Sunny Hostin, 54, Ana Navarro, 51, Sara Haines, 45, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, 34.
It showed the ladies stepping up to the microphone to say three words that viewers could expect for the new season.
They all gave their humorous take on what will happen in future episodes – except for Whoopi, who hadn’t appeared yet.
Finally, at the end of the clip, Ana was heard asking, “Where’s Whoopi?” This prompted the actress to peek her head out from behind a camera.
“I’m right here,” the moderator announced. “We’ll all see each other next season. Keep talking!” before retreating back behind the lens.
But Whoopi’s late appearance worried fans, who thought she might not return to the show.
REACTIONS FROM THE FANS
After Ana continued sharing the clip InstagramOne person commented: “I was scared for a moment because I didn’t see Whoopi. She is a must see on the View. I love you Whoopi.”
Another echoed the thought: “Don’t scare me like that Ms. Whoopi.”

A third fan chimed in: “Whoopi you scared the shit out of me when I didn’t see you to the end. Come on girlfriend, don’t do that.”
And someone else said, “I can’t wait! And you know, we were all nervous and thought Whoopi wasn’t coming back. Well played. Favorite cast of all time and I’ve seen it forever.”
Whoopi takes Friday off the talk show, leaving Joy to run the talk show.
WHERE ARE ALL?
Fans recently feared the entire panel would be leaving the show due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
The show has been writerless since May, when the Writer’s Guild of America went on strike.
And when fans noticed that a July 15 episode was pretaped, they wondered if The View presenters would step down in solidarity with the strikers.
“Is this a normal burglary Friday? #TheView Or a Post Say Friday? #Hottopics,” asked a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I think the episodes watched on Friday are pre-taped (Wednesday?). We may not see what happens until Monday,” replied another user.
“Guess we won’t know until Monday whether the hosts are on strike or not by Monday #theview,” someone else posted.
“Do we know if the hosts are on strike? Today was pre-taped so it’s hard to say #theview,” said another.
NOWHERE TO GO
Whoopi later addressed fans’ concerns during a live broadcast.
“Hello and welcome to The View. Listen, we’d like to start by explaining why we’re still working when there’s a SAG-AFTRA strike,” the Ghost actress began.
The SAG AFTRA is Composed of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the union represents approximately 160,000 actors and other media industry professionals.
“Like the soap operas, soap operas, game shows and new shows, we operate under a different type of contract called the network code, which means we’re allowed to continue,” she continued.
The 67-year-old added: “Since we’re not actors at the table and we’re playing The View, it’s a different kind of contract.”
“So that’s why we’re still able to work.”
Whoopi said they support the actors and writers who are on strike.
“People are just trying to find some balance,” the actress shared.
The host concluded: “That’s why we’re working today. We just want it to work for everyone.”
“No one wants to see anyone strike.”
