The school hit back in outrage after pictures of teachers wearing giant prosthetic breasts were shared online by students

A school board has announced that it is standing by a teacher after she was hit with backlash when multiple photos posted online showed her large prosthetic breasts.

The board announced this week that it is preparing a safety plan for the transgender teacher’s safety after students shared her pictures online.

The industrial arts teacher, who previously identified as male and now identifies as female, recently went viral after social media posts showed her showing up in class while wearing large prosthetic breasts.

Pictures also show large nipples protruding through the teacher’s shirt.

The Halton County School Board, which represents Oakville Trafalgar High School outside of Toronto, has since defended the “extremely effective” teacher, according to the Toronto Sun.

“All the kids really love being in class,” said HDSB chair Margo Shuttleworth.

The teacher’s identity has not been publicly reported, but HDSB released a statement on Tuesday showing the teacher was misidentified in previous reports.

Shuttleworth revealed the district anticipates protests after the school returns to classes and said they were in the process of “putting in place a safety plan” to protect the teacher.

“We can’t just wait and see what happens because I’m pretty confident there won’t be a normal return to school on Monday,” the chief executive said.

Shuttleworth said they also anticipate the arrival of anti-protesters.

“I know there have been calls to the school that haven’t been the most pleasant.”

Notwithstanding the concern, Shuttleworth told the outlet that the teacher “is fully accepted and welcomed in the school community in terms of staff.”

The district chair added that the school board will push ahead with protecting the “gender rights” of all individuals.

While the district remains behind the teacher, several students have reportedly expressed concerns about being in the class.

“Kids here definitely don’t think this is normal… but realistically we can’t comment,” one student reportedly wrote on Twitter, according to the outlet.

“Last year the teacher was a man. I don’t think the school can fire him,” the student added.
