The dime was minted in New Orleans, where only 440,000 were minted.

American coin engraver Charles E. Barber designed the cent and was the sixth chief engraver at the United States Mint from 1879 to 1917.

The coin features Miss Liberty with her hair in a Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath.

On the back is a large wreath enclosing ONE DIME.

The seller offered it for just $1, but after seven bids, the cent reached over $112.

The bidding war continued and after 23 bids went to a lucky collector.
