The pub soccer player who won Roberto Carlos to play with his team missed the game

ONE The Sunday league footballer who won the competition for Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos to join his team could be benched – as they both play left-back.
Liam Turrall convinces his pub waiter to pay £5 to get in eBay’s dream transfer lottery.
Their outfit – Bull at Barne Utd – has won and now there’s superstar in sight for them.
But software engineer Liam might not be in the lineup as he plays in a position like former Real Madrid star, 48 years old.
But the 29-year-old is still old and is working out in the gym in the hope of being selected.
World Cup winner Carlos, who has played at stadiums like Real’s 81,000-capacity Santiago Bernabeu, will find himself on a muddy park ground in Shropshire, in division one of Greenhous Shrewsbury & District Sunday Football League.
“It’s a completely different game,” Liam said.
“The pitch is full of balls, the lineman is either a substitute or a fan, and with all our efforts we are certainly not world-class players.
“Controversy, scuffles and lots of fouls are normal.
“I’m sure there will be a few opposition players who want to leave their mark on him.”
Carlos hasn’t played professionally in six years and Liam hopes there’s still room for both of them on the field.
He said: “Without a doubt, he will be a great asset to the team.
“To have that level of experience and technical ability, I’m going to try to play with him as much as I can, knowing if I do that wild run he can find me.
“I’d be done if we could exchange some quality play on the flanks and set up – or dare I say score in a dream scenario – a late goal.”
‘HE IS ONE’
Liam’s team is named after his local swashbuckler and he’s hoping to get Carlos down there to play a few post-match chills.
He joked: “His pocket is deeper than mine, but I’ll get him one so I can say he owes me one.”
The date of the match is yet to be confirmed.
The eBay Lottery also saw England Lionesses ace Eni Aluko, 35, pair up with Sussex Sunday League teams Pevensey and Westham FC in a one-way match.
TV’s Chris Kamara will comment for both games.
The proceeds of the eBay lottery go to the charity Football Beyond Borders.
