Steve Carell, of course, portrayed the odd, fan-favorite regional manager Michael Scott for seven seasons of “The Office”. However, in her directorial debut, Carell led the cast of “The Office” for episode 5 “Broke”.
On the “Office Ladies” podcast, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey talked about Carell’s professionalism while directing his supporting actor. “We talked to [line producer] Randy Cordray about it, and he said that Steve’s work ethic was amazing, that he was completely prepared. He had great ideas, great energy,” Fischer said. She went on to say that Cordray remembers that Carell was “very respectful of every position on the crew” and “wanted to have input from everyone.” “(via Mashable).
Fischer then recalled a conversation she had with Carell about the episode in which she asked him what it would be like to direct his drivers, recalling, “This is what Steve said. Here’s a quote: ‘It’s like being in charge of a world-class orchestra. “He’s just someone who makes things better,” Kinsey added.
