THE NEW YORK YANKEES canceled Tuesday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

This comes as the city and surrounding region continue to grapple with smoke from the Canadian wildfires.

In a statement on Twitter, the Yankees announced, “The New York Yankees have announced that tonight’s (Wednesday, June 7) game between the Yankees and the White Sox will not be played due to poor air quality from smoke from the Canadian wildfires .”

“The game will be replayed tomorrow, Thursday 8 June, as the first game of a singles doubles game starting at 4:05 p.m. The second game starts at 7:05 p.m. at the earliest.”

“If the first game ends later than 6:35 p.m., game 2 will start approximately 30 minutes after the end of game 1.”

The statement went on to say that tickets for Wednesday’s game are not valid for Thursday’s “double ticket with single entry”.
