The new DWTS cast member revealed that Jamie Lynn Spears admits that daughter Maddie, 15, “motivated” her to take part in the show

JAMIE Lynn Spears has been announced as the latest celebrity to join the cast of Dancing With the Stars this autumn.

Fans previously speculated that the actress might take part in season 32 after several clues were spotted on social media.

Now, 32-year-old Jamie has officially announced her appearance on “Dancing With the Stars” on Good Morning America.

The Zoey 101 star appeared on the talk show on Tuesday where she discussed her excitement about joining the cast.

GMA host Lara Spencer told fans: “We’re having an exciting moment right now, it’s time for a stop. As we mentioned, Season 32 of Dancing With the Stars is about to begin.”

“We are so excited that the entire cast is actually coming to see us tomorrow. But we thought we would start the party a little early and reveal one of the couples.”

“And here they are, Jamie Lynn Spears and Alan are with us!” she announced as she walked over to greet the TV star and her partner.

Lara hugged the Nickelodeon star and her partner and continued: “Jamie Lynn, you did it! You signed on the dotted line. Are you ready for this?”

Jamie replied: “I don’t know if you could ever be 100% ready to take on something that big. I didn’t know what a commitment that was. But it’s definitely like that, I’m ready to challenge myself.”

The child star added that she will be “donating” her weekly DWTS salary to “SAG” to help during the ongoing writers’ strike.

The mother of two explained that she grew up taking traditional dance classes but “went the cheerleader route” rather than ballroom, so this is new territory for her.

Jamie showed off her dancing skills to her partner Alan and claimed she was “still learning”.

Lara asked the TV star what her “sister and family” thought about her joining the cast of DWTS.

She replied, “My 15-year-old was really motivated to do that, which was so surprising.”

“I thought she was going to say, ‘You’re going to dance on TV, what are you doing, Mom?'” she admitted.

Jamie continued: “She said, ‘Mom, you have to do it!’ She’s an athlete, so I think she kind of wanted to see me push myself.”

The big announcement came amid fans’ suspicions that Britney Spears’ younger sister has been chosen to join the cast of DWTS season 32.

The official DWTS Instagram account published a cryptic post on Monday that had fans speculating which celebrities would be the new contestants in the upcoming season.

Three snaps were placed in a carousel post on the dance show’s Instagram page.

In each black-and-white image, a woman and a man posed together in glittering performance costumes.

No one’s face was visible as the dancing couples held a disco ball over each other’s faces in their respective pictures.

“The countdown is on to find out who this season’s #DWTS stars and couples are. Comment with your guesses!” the caption read.

Tons of fans gave their replies in the comments section and replied to the caption.

“I think the first one might be Britt and her new partner!!,” one fan replied.

Some fans suspected that one of the contestants was a Boy Meets World alum.

“The second picture looks like Topanga [Danielle Fishel] “Absolutely lol,” one fan surmised.

Another captioned: “Second picture almost looks like Danielle Fishel.”

Countless other people believed that the second slide in the post showed Britney Spears, 41, younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, 32.

“The second one looks a lot like Jamie Lynn Spears…” one fan remarked.

Another person agreed: “The second picture looks like Jamie Lynn Spears.”

A third fan commented: “If this is Alan and Jamie Lynn Spears it’s going to be a rollercoaster of a season…”

The entire cast of Dancing With the Stars will be announced on September 13th on GMA and Season 32 will officially begin on Tuesday, September 26th.
