When one was asked to recall Abigail Breslin’s most important roles, movies and TV shows such as “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Zombieland,” “Scream Queens,” and “Still Water” immediately spring to mind. Before appearing in those projects, however, she was a child actress appearing in procedural films such as “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “NCIS.”
Breslin starred in the Season 2 episode of “NCIS” titled “See No Evil.” Her character, Sandy Watson, is an eight-year-old blind piano prodigy and the daughter of a disgraced Navy Captain. It turned out that her parents owed the wrong person some money, leading to Sandy and her mother being kidnapped. Naturally, NCIS officers must save the date before the timeout expires.
“See No Evil” aired in 2004, the same year Breslin appeared in “Law & Order”, “Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” and other notable projects (per IMDb). Two years later, she scored her first Academy Award nomination for her turn in “Little Miss Sunshine” (via Everyone), and the rest is history.
