In the case of two bodies found in a burning car, NEW details emerge showing the deaths were no accident.
The bodies of Jesse Parrilla and Nikki Huang were found in a burning car near a Bronx golf course just after 4 a.m. on May 16.
Both victims suffered fatal gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner.
The two victims were so badly burned that they could not be identified for days.
Parrilla and Huang both sustained gunshot wounds to the head. He was also found with a wound to the chest while having a second shot to the neck.
According to the police, ballistic evidence was secured inside and outside the vehicle.
Investigators say it was a homicide.
A suspect has not yet been identified and a motive for the shooting has not yet been released.
The Honda Accord the two were found in was registered to Parrilla’s mother, Michelle Morales, according to the New York Daily News.
“They must have kidnapped him. I think they still have his phone,” Morales told the Daily News.
“They took him there and set him on fire to make it look like an accident.
“I have no idea who would do that. He was my only son.”
Parrilla, 22, was a basketball player from the Bronx. He played point guard at Genesee Community College upstate.
Huang, 23, owned a nail salon called Nails by Nikki in Chinatown.
A makeshift memorial was erected in front of her parents’ restaurant, Wa Lung Kitchen, down the street from the salon.
“She needed a ride and she called him, but I don’t know how they ended up in the Bronx,” Morales said.
“He was at home all day and was supposed to meet me. He didn’t show up and I called and called but he didn’t pick up…. They shot him twice. They murdered him.”
“I want justice,” Morales said.
“He was a fine, loving, giving young man and a wonderful son.”
