A FIRED body found under a couch may have lain there for weeks, so decomposed it could not be identified, cops say.
Police made the discovery on June 29 after being called to an apartment over reports of a foul odor.

Rescue workers responded to the scene in which the man was officially pronounced dead.
The NYPD confirmed to The Sun that the death is being investigated as a homicide.
“The individual sustained multiple stab wounds to the neck and back,” the NYPD said.
“The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death.”


The person remains unknown at this time.
The NYPD said no arrests have yet been made in the case.
The investigations are ongoing.
Police believe the person had been dead for weeks based on the state of the decomposing body, the New York Post reports.
The body was discovered in an apartment in Woodhaven, Queens.
Woodhaven is located in the southwestern part of Queens, close to both Ozone Park and Forest Park.
In 2019, the neighborhood was considered one of the safest in Queens.
