“She was beaten so badly we couldn’t have an open coffin,” Judy’s son, Keith, told WTVA.

“It’s just an evil person who did this.”

Police have yet to find a suspect or motive for Judy’s murder.

Her death shocked the Amory community as Judy was known and loved by many.

“She volunteered to do whatever she could do around town or with her church and in 77 years has never heard them say a bad word to anyone,” Keith said.

“It makes it so hard to recognize someone did this to her and get away with it.

“This person has done bad things. It’s hard to believe that anyone could do this and be so mean. They have to get off the streets, they could do it again.”

Amory Police Chief Ronnie Bowen said: “We’re not used to dealing with this in our community.”

The cops are hoping someone will come forward with information that could help them track down Judy’s killer.

Bowen said: “We’re just trying to jog people’s memories and think about it – was there something they didn’t report that they thought was a little suspicious but didn’t bother to say anything about it because you thought it didn’t matter?”

Keith isn’t ready to give up either.

“You have to search your heart and know that person is out there,” he said.

With the help of local, state and federal agencies, police continue their search for a suspect.

“We’re going back and re-evaluating some of the evidence that we already had with new technology,” Bowen said.

Judy’s obituary states, “Her church and family were the most important things in her life and she greeted everyone with a smile and went out of her way to bless everyone who crossed her path.”

Amory Police and Judy’s family are increasing the reward to $20,000 for information on the case.
