COPS has launched a murder investigation after a woman who was attacked in an alley died.
Police have arrested two people following the incident in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.
She was found with life-threatening head injuries and rushed to the hospital just after 8:50 p.m. on October 1.
Unfortunately, the woman died yesterday as a result of her injuries and a murder investigation was launched today.
The victim’s family is currently being assisted by specially trained officers.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
A woman who was also arrested in connection with the incident has since been released pending investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicole Elliott said: “Since the incident, officers have been investigating a number of inquiries to determine how the woman sustained her injuries.
“We understand that a tragic incident of this nature will shock the local community.
“Those living in the area will see increased numbers of officers in the coming days.
“Our neighborhood police team is also in the area to provide safety for residents and the local community.

“I encourage anyone with information that might assist us with our inquiries, who has not spoken to us or thinks they have more information to share, please get in touch.
