MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins have announced open applications and enrollment for the fifth Nat Moore Annual Career Grants and Scholarships Award Program.
The Nat Moore Endowment Scholarship offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe Counties. The Career Sponsor Nat Moore provides grants to youth aged 18-24 to assist in enhancing their education.
Here are the guidelines for scholarships and grants:
Nat Moore Scholarship – $10,000 award ($2,500 per year for 4 years)
- Application deadline is February 28, 2022 by 11:59 p.m. EST. No late submissions will be considered or accepted.
- Must be a high school senior graduating from a high school in Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, or Palm Beach County on or before June 2022.
- Demonstrate financial need to attend college.
- Minimum high school GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale, excluding homeschooling).
Nat Moore Career Grant – maximum award amount is $3,500 (taking into account the cost of the entire program)
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18-24. If currently or graduated from high school, documentation is required.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

During its fifth year under the administration of the Miami Dolphin Foundation, both the scholarship and the vocational grant are designed to strengthen efforts to bridge the gap between receiving financial aid and earning a degree or diploma. profession. For the 2021 season, scholarships were awarded to six graduating seniors selected through an application process demonstrating community service, leadership, financial need, and academic standing. .
This foundation is a continuation of the Nat Moore Foundation, which began in 1998 to serve South Florida youth through education. The Miami Dolphins Foundation through the Nat Moore Endowment Fund is committed to donating $10 million to fund educational opportunities for South Florida youth.
Nat Moore is a Florida native, born in Tallahassee but raised in Miami, where he attended Miami Edison High School and Miami-Dade Community College. At the University of Florida, Moore was a star running back and was later inducted into the UF Athletes’ Hall of Fame as the “Great Gator” in 1978. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins. in 1974 and was a popular star for thirteen seasons from 1974 to 1986. He is currently the group’s Senior Vice President of Special Projects and Alumni Relations. His post-retirement career was filled with humanitarian and charitable work.
