The Marvel Cinematic Universe Found its Daredevil (Again)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe finally has Daredevil and fans of the character will probably recognize the actor behind the mask.

That’s because the performer is Charlie Cox, who played the hero for three seasons of Netflix Daredevil series, which is technically typical for an MCU. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has finally announced the news, long rumored to be in the works, in an interview with Cinema and in it, he reveals that although Cox’s casting has been announced, where we’ll see him for the first time remains a secret.

“If you get to see Daredevil in the upcoming movies, then Charlie Cox, yes, will be the actor to play Daredevil,” Feige said. “Where we see it, how we see it, when we see it, remains to be seen.”

Fans have long speculated that Cox will return to a role in the MCU, with some hoping he’ll make a more lawyer-related appearance in Marvel and Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home (Peter Parker is in need of an attorney, after all, because he’s accused of murdering Quentin Beck aka Mysterio.) Maybe that’s what Feige is alluding to – it could also be that the MCU hasn’t quite envisioned Daredevil’s debut, meaning Feige won’t have much to say about Cox’s role in the universe.

Only time will tell, but for those who watched Daredevil, today’s news will certainly be welcome. Daredevil largely considered Netflix’s best Marvel series, in no small part due to Cox acting as a protector. If you haven’t seen Cox as Daredevil, the entire Netflix series is well worth watching. In addition, some have speculated that the Kingpin, the transparent villain Daredevil series, which may appear in Marvel’s ongoing Disney+ show, Hawk Eye.
