It is the Citizens’ first time winning the competition and beating United in the FA Cup final last week means they have secured the treble after winning the Premier League last month.

United are the only other team in England to have managed such a feat and defender Williams decided to remind his rivals of that fact.

After the finale, he continued to write Instagram: “No one wants sloppy seconds 😵‍👹👹👹.”

Williams also criticized Rio Ferdinand after the BT Sport pundit congratulated Jack Grealish and his City team-mates on their historic win.

The left-back felt Ferdinand was wrong to praise City given his loyalty to United.

He added: “@rioferdy5 I bet you wouldn’t congratulate if you were [a] Player. Keep the same morals. Two faces are boring.

Fans were divided over Williams’ comments, with some confused by his reaction.

One wrote: “What a clown.”

And another commented: “So embarrassing.”
