The man built a sports bar in his garden and it became ‘one of the best’ in town with a five-star review on TripAdvisor

A MAN has created a sports bar in his back garden that has been given a five-star rating on TripAdvisor by punters.

The Spearmint Ostrich has become one of the most prized ostriches in Doncaster, Yorkshire, although the exact location remains a secret.

It was voted the fourth best nightlife spot in town, even claiming it was created in a backyard garden.

The pub, which houses a large selection of Leeds United footballs and jerseys, has been described as “the best venue in Donny.”

The backyard boozer is made up of a warehouse and large paved patio area, but the bar appears to be heavily stocked.

Inside there’s a range of snacks, spirits and bar snacks as well as traditional beer mats and pumps – but it’s unclear if they work.

There is also a large TV screen for watching football, as well as a heated outdoor area for visitors to enjoy the limited British sunshine.

A Sky Sports and BT Sports poster was placed outside, telling guests they could watch live football from the venue.

One reviewer said that the garden boozer was “the best in Donny” and “Great little Pub!!

She added: “Great range of good wines and beers. 100% recommend Zinfandel.

“Best place to go for drinks with the whole family and also adults after 7pm”.

Patrick said: “Spend the fireworks night here. I can’t speak more highly of the owners, the quality beers and the company. I would highly recommend to anyone else.”

Third reviewer, Sam, said: “Lovely place, great people even better food lol. Highly recommend.

“Looking forward to next visit, my 4-year-old cried when he had to be away from childcare.”
