The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Release Updates, Renewal, Book and More

The Lincoln Attorney is now on Netflix, and the new legal drama may sound familiar to some, as it shares a title and storyline with a hit film and book series. But will the new iteration of the Mickey Haller saga return for more? Here’s what we know The Lincoln Attorney Season 2.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars The Lincoln Attorney as defenseman Mickey Haller, who is back in the saddle after a few personal setbacks. Returning to work in a big way, he takes on the high-profile murder case of a tech billionaire.

The series also stars Neve Campbell and Becki Newton as Haller’s ex-wives, as well as other supporting characters that make the charming legal drama a must-see.

But will The Lincoln Attorney Season 2 on Netflix? Here’s what we know so far about the release updates, cast, books, and more!

How many seasons of The Lincoln Lawyer are there?

As of May 2022, there will only be one season of The Lincoln Attorney available to stream on Netflix. If you want to learn more about the story, check out the Michael Connelly book series or the 2011 film of the same name, starring Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller.

Will The Lincoln Lawyer have a second season?

Yes! On June 14, Netflix announced The Lincoln Attorney was renewed for season 2. Netflix typically announces renewal decisions as early as a month after the release of a new series or season, although the streamer has been known to recently extend the wait to three months or more. Luckily we only had a month.

There’s certainly enough source material to sustain the series for several seasons, we’ll have to wait and see how the premiere fares before Netflix announces a decision on the series The Lincoln Attorney Season 2. We’re definitely expecting great things from this show.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Release Updates

Since The Lincoln Attorney Season 2 has gotten the green light from Netflix, don’t expect a very long wait between seasons. The cast and crew could realistically be back at work by the end of 2022 to film another season for a release the following year.

A second season could arrive as early as April 2023, although a May 2023 release is more likely on the horizon. If anything, the season could release sometime in the summer of 2023, but we shouldn’t wait much more than a year for Mickey’s comeback.

The cast of The Lincoln Lawyer

Given the nature of the show The Lincoln Attorney has evolved into a procedural, albeit serialized, legal drama, new characters and cast members could be added with each subsequent season. But we expect these core regulars to stay:

  • Manuel Garcia Rulfo as Mickey Haller
  • Neve Campbell as Maggie McPherson
  • Becki Newton as Lorna
  • Jazz Raycole as Izzy
  • Angus Sampson as Cisco
  • Krista Warner as Hayley Haller

Christopher Gorham co-starred as Mickey’s client and billionaire Trevor Elliott in the first season, although he probably wouldn’t return for season 2.

What book is The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 based on?

During the 2011 movie The Lincoln Attorney adapts Mickey Haller’s first book, the Netflix series adapts the second: The Brass Judgment. Prior to the renewal announcement, it was unclear whether the series would enter the book order for any subsequent seasons. But in this case The reversal would be next in season 2.

Variety reports The Lincoln Attorney Season 2 will also have 10 episodes and will be based on the book The fifth witness this is the fourth book in the series.

There are six Mickey Haller books in total by author Michael Connelly, leaving five more for the Netflix series. The character also appears in a series of Bosch Books that also break down this door.
