A lifelong bachelor has finally tied the knot — at the age of 95.
Julian Moyle said “I do” to his bride Valerie Williams, 84, in front of 40 guests.
And afterwards he joked: “I don’t remember any other marriages. It’s like a new year, isn’t it?
“That’s why I’m really looking forward to their company.”
Julian and Valerie met 23 years ago at Calvary Baptist Church in Cardiff.
They’ve been courting all along, but Julian didn’t propose until February.
They married at the same venue, where they were serenaded by an opera singer in a nod to Julian’s time as a soloist with Welsh National Opera.
Australian-born Julian said: “It was wonderful. We will have a postponed honeymoon to Australia where I will show Mrs Moyle.”
Valerie, who grew up in Cardiff, described Julian as a “fine gentleman”.
She said: “What we look forward to the most is just being together through married life.”
Julian added: “You don’t know how funny she can be.
“She’s so, so kind and generous. Loving and generous.”
