Monsters: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story: Is Club 219 a real place?

Yes, Club 219 was a gay bar that Dahmer frequented to pick up guys and lure them back to his apartment where he would kill them. Club 219 opened its doors in February 1981, according to the Wisconsin LGBT History Project. Located in downtown Milwaukee, it was considered the best bar for New Year’s Eve. It was popular for its drag show performances and male strippers and dancers.

However, the bar’s popularity began to decline as more bars and new shops opened in the area, limiting parking. It also didn’t help that Club 219 was eventually revealed to the public as the bar Dahmer frequented. As a result, fewer people began frequenting the bar, leading to its closing in October 2005. However, it is not known what the building is used for today.
