The Indian billionaire faces jail after a horrific Lamborghini crash burned along with a Bollywood star’s wife

AN INDIAN billionaire is facing jail time after he was involved in a horrific Lamborghini accident that left a Swiss couple burnt to death.

Real estate tycoon Vikas Oberoi, 54, was behind the wheel with his wife last week. Bollywood Star Gayatri Joshi when his quick overtaking caused a major incident in Sardinia.

He was reportedly driving the Lamborghini as part of a raid Italian last week on a supercar tour with his famous movie star wife in the passenger seat.

Oberoi and Joshi miraculously escaped injury and are seen in the viral video of the accident signaling that they are fine as they veered off the road.

Gayatri, who starred in the Bollywood blockbuster Swades, told India’s Free Press Journal: “Vikas and I are in Italy.

“We had an accident here.

“With God’s grace, we are both doing absolutely fine.”

But today the public prosecutor’s office in Cagliari opened an investigation into a double road murder involving the billionaire. If found guilty, he could face up to seven years in prison.

Oberoi is believed to be one of them of India richest men.

The tycoon is the head of Oberoi Realty, a real estate developer that builds and sells expensive properties in Mumbai.

He also owns a large luxury hotel-resort chain with dozens of locations in India and around the world, as well as seven cruise ships.

Melissa Krautli, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67, were named as the unfortunate victims of the horror accident.

A video of a car behind the tragic supercar accident on October 2nd showed the full crash as it happened.

In the minute-long clip, a blue Lamborghini attempts to overtake a large white RV by driving into the oncoming lane.

Then a red Ferrari speeds alongside the moving Lambo and the two touch each other, causing them to fly towards the RV, leaving all three heading in opposite directions.

The Ferrari is parked behind the overturned van and is not visible in the video, but according to local media it caught fire, trapping the poor couple inside as it burned to death.

As the cars collide, the woman in the video can be heard screaming before the frightening sound of the terrible impact is heard.

Oberoi and Joshi ended up in the ditch in the blue Lamborghini.

A couple from Selva di Val Gardena, aged 61 and 62, who were in the van were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries along with the famous Indian couple.

The remains of the three vehicles have been taken over by local authorities as they continue to investigate the incident.

Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that the couple left Forte Village and headed towards Mores.

A supercar worth up to £600,000 crashed in front of the Beverly Hills Hotel Earlier this year it caused the hood to pop off.

The accident went viral as the car bore striking similarities to the Monopoly car, being chrome plated and shaped almost identically.
