The IMF’s economic forecasts are wild speculation – they’re usually wrong

Pathetic bunch
The IMF’s economic forecasts are so frequently wrong that no one would pay any heed to them unless they were immediately armed by Labor and their Remoan allies in the broadcast media.
To them, these predictions are not the wild speculations economists are used to.

They are evidence set in stone of Tory incompetence and the ruinous, bewildering ignorance of Leave voters.
It doesn’t matter that the IMF itself doesn’t blame Brexit for the negative growth it expects for us this year.
Or that our actual growth in 2022 was the highest in the G7.
Or that the inverted IMF warned of tax cuts last year and is now (correctly) saying that high taxes are holding us back.
What is important for Labor is to twist the knife and keep up the pretense that our war and Covid battered economy would miraculously improve under them.
For remain-diehards, it’s all about blaming Brexit for everything. The EU’s reliably ridiculous Guy Verhofstadt even managed to pin Putin’s war on it today.
They are waging a somber, divisive campaign to persuade Britain to lose its bottle over Brexit – having been completely out for just two years – and rejoin the EU.
The price would likely be ending the pound, restoring free movement, paying billions in fees, scrapping over 70 independent trade deals and bowing to Brussels again.
Do all the pointless polls supposedly proving Britain “regrets” Brexit mention that to voters? no
An IMF warning IS worth heeding. . . that our tax burden will soon reach a 70-year high.
No economy can thrive under this, especially when ruthless wage strikes paralyze the public sector.
As soon as inflation falls, the chancellor must take up the tax axe.
Send the jets
AIR power could prove crucial in finally ousting Putin from Ukraine.
It will also be crucial to defend the western tanks, which are now being sent there at a huge cost.

The UK, US and Poland’s refusal today to supply fighter jets therefore seems short-sighted.
Ukraine says its pilots could train to fly them in six months.
And fears that Russia would use them as a pretext for nuclear retaliation are overblown.
Our tanks are reason enough if the Kremlin really wants war with NATO.
The Allies should think again.
Nick is in trouble

NICOLA Sturgeon is a chattering shambles defending her own trans craze.
The SNP boss roars and laughs nervously as interviewers interrogate her about the male rapist who was sent to a women’s prison in accordance with her policy that all trans women are women.
How gratifying to see the fashionably awakened leftist theory crashing into the wall of reality and public opinion.
