The Home Depot “thief” stole $35,000 worth of flooring in a sneaky checkout scam and then sold it on Facebook

A THIEF has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $35,000 worth of flooring from Home Depot, claiming he had already paid for it online.
Arthur Grass, 36, just walked out of stores across St. Louis, MissouriArea after viewing a fraudulent receipt and pay for a cheaper item.
Between Jan. 5 and Feb. 6, he stole 468 boxes of flooring worth at least $75 each, the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said in a statement press release.
Grass would then continue pedaling the stolen goods Facebook.
This wasn’t the only one crime The defendant pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
He also admitted to stealing $142,423 from the Missouri Department of Labor by filing false unemployment claims.


He lied to the department by claiming that 10 employees had been laid off from his company, AJE Construction.
These employees received compensation from Grass for allowing him to use their personal information.
He also pleaded guilty to felony and possession of a firearm police Found a stolen 9mm Glock pistol at Grass automobile while investigating a catalytic converter theft.
He faces up to 20 years Jail for wire fraud charges, 10 years for firearms charges and five years for theft charges.
Grass also faces a fine of up to $250,000 for each charge and is ordered to return the stolen funds.
A defense attorney representing Grass described him as a “great father” who “comes from a really good family,” who Kansas City Star reported.
However, the attorney noted that he had made several bad decisions.
He added that Grass has taken responsibility for his actions and hopes to contribute to the community after his time has been served.
