The Governor and Toby Are Waiting For Permanent Homes – CBS Pittsburgh

Are you looking to bring a pet into the house? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So as part of Furry Tails, I’ll be doing an ongoing feature of adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have a place in your heart and are looking to bring an adorable badminton ball into your home, perhaps one of these guys will become part of your family!

Governor & Jersey
Animal friends
Animal Friends pet profiles:
Meet the Governor! This handsome guy joined Animal Friends in November as a transfer from a partner organization so we’re still learning about him, but we already love him (and know you do too). The Governor is a big man who could use some work on his manners, but he is eager to learn as the enticing rewards are on offer! He will do best in an adults-only home with a family dedicated to teaching him through positive reinforcement techniques. The Governor is a young man full of energy and wants nothing more than to go hiking to get his heart out! Come meet this funny guy today.
Animal Friends pet profiles:
In September, our Humane Investigation team received a call about a group of cats abandoned after a house fire. The cats are suspected to have been alone for several weeks without food or water. When our team arrived on the scene, they were met with dire conditions and a flock of frightened cats. In total, we rescued nearly 45 cats, including two litters of kittens believed to have been born that day. Jersey was one of the cats rescued that day!
After arriving at Animal Friends, each cat was medically examined and fortunately, there weren’t many serious problems. Many cats develop eye and upper respiratory tract infections and begin treatment right away. Most of our new residents were scared at first and each began to open up at their own pace. To date, more than half have found new loving families! Many others stay with us and spend the day in their own free roaming room, where they have plenty of space to seek privacy or get out and interact with our staff and volunteers. me – and together! We’ve found that they all love toys and wand play, so interactive playtime helps us connect with them.
If you can help, reach out to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7000. For more information on how you can adopt any pet at Animal Friends, visit their website here!
