GOOGLE Chrome has a clever trick that can save you from embarrassment.
It’s a way to clear recent history, which can prevent prying eyes from tracking your activity.
Erase Google history usually involves discarding all-day – or lifelong – use.
But Google Chrome is changing that with its 15-minute deletion window.
This feature was recently added to Android, but is also available on other devices.
That way, you can quickly clean whatever you just did.
It can be a lifesaver if you are looking for a gift for someone, searching for a private medical condition, using Google for how to make your housemate cleaner or something. that’s completely different.
If you have an Android phone, you need to update to the latest versions of Android and Google Chrome.
Then, open the Google app on your phone and tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
This will take you to Settings where you can select the option to Delete Last 15 Minutes.
So is there an equivalent on desktop and iPhone?
On iPhone, it works the same way – but with the Google app.
Just open the Google app (not Chrome), go to Settings and look for the option Remove 15 minutes ago.
This is a fairly new feature, so make sure you update to the latest iOS version.
And make sure you’re using the latest version of Google on the App Store.
On Chrome for iOS, you’re still limited to a minimum deletion hour – unless you want to delete specific items manually.
It also works on desktop browsers.
Go to Settings via your profile picture, then select Delete Last 15 Minutes.
It’s as simple as that.
Of course, an easier option might be to use Incognito Mode.
But Incognito Mode makes you sign out of all accounts when using it, so it’s not always ideal.
However, Incognito Mode is available on Chrome on all platforms – so it’s an option if you need it.
