TMZ exclusively reported that Kelly’s home caught fire on Friday, May 13.

Talk about bad luck.

According to law enforcement security footage, the cause was someone tossing a lit cigarette into the empty parking lot next to her home.

They do not believe the fire was intentionally set.

The flames struck right at their windows and quickly spread to other parts of the house.

Luckily she was able to get out, but the house was almost completely destroyed.

The fire caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage and rendered it uninhabitable for some time.

Kelly told TMZ that none of the scripts or stories she was involved in were that bad.

“Something as small as a cigarette butt can lead to casualties and devastation,” she told them.

VIDEO MATERIAL

In the video, she can be heard saying, “That’s how it started. Is not that crazy?”

Monaco made a video of the damage themselves.

It shows firefighters walking through the smoke while quickly extinguishing the flames.

In another video, viewers can see how quickly the fire went from a tiny spark to a full blaze.

DRAMATIC LIFE

Unfortunately, her off-screen life became just as dramatic as her role at General Hospital when the fire broke out.

Kelly is best known for her role as Sam McCall on the soap opera.

She was also the first-ever winner of Dancing With The Stars.

The 45-year-old partnered with Alec Mazzo in 2005.

The soap star came back in Season 15 to compete in All-Stars, but she didn’t win again.

At that time she was partnered with Val Chmerkovskiy and finished third.
