Kin, 69, has been on the show General Hospital on and off since 1977, earning four Emmy nominations during his stint on the show.

With each generation, the TV star gains more fans and becomes even more popular in the series.

The way General Hospital fans reacted to Kin’s announcement that his beloved character Scott, aka Scotty, would be axed was a testament that he is indeed a fan favorite.

“Just found out Scotty @GeneralHospital was written out. Thank you @GeneralHospital fans for the decades of support!!” Kin wrote in a tweet yesterday.

TAKE IT BACK!

So many fans responded to his tweet to express their disappointment that he was dropped from the program by the show’s producers.

“Nooo! I hope this doesn’t last! Don’t do that @valentinifrank!!!” one fan commented on Twitter.

Another tweeted: “What?!?! WTF is @GeneralHospital’s thinking. You’re an old character, you bring humor to every scene.”

“Scotty’s character has ties to every family in Port Charles. Given the shock of Jacklyn Zeman’s (Bobbie Spencer) death last week, that’s just 100% FALSE. PLEASE CURVE!”

A third fan banged: “What? Not our Scotty! What is it with these so-called authors?”

A fourth signed: “What???? But he became one of the best characters! Seems like something shady is going on behind the scenes…”

Someone else remarked, “Unacceptable, Scotty is an integral part of GH. GH needs to learn to value and care for their vets like DAYS.”

“The vets are what the fans really care about!”

General Hospital’s executive producers have yet to confirm or deny Kin’s claims that he has been fired.

Soap Opera Shake Up

Many changes have been made to General Hospital recently.

ABC bosses cast the famous role of 30-year-old General Hospital actress Lexi Ainsworth on the series to an actress who starred in a rival soap opera earlier this month.

Between 2009 and 2011 and from 2015 to this year, Kristina, daughter of Maurice Bernard’s 60-year-old character Sonny Corinthos, was portrayed by Lexi.

However, Soap Opera Digest recently reported that the showrunners decided to make a change and replaced Lexi with Emmy-winning soap star Kate Mansi, 35.

From 2016 to 2020, Kate played Abigail Deveraux DiMera on and off on the NBC series Days of Our Lives.

The news outlet reported that while Kate’s last appearance on the series was in 2020, she returned for her very last appearance in an episode that aired on April 27.

Kate is currently filming for General Hospital – the first episode will air later this month.

The reason for ABC’s recast of Lexi’s character has not yet been revealed.

General Hospital has been on the air since 1963 and has nearly 15,000 episodes to date.

The show is available to watch on ABC weekdays beginning at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Viewers can also watch General Hospital on the ABC website and stream it on Hulu.

CURRENT LINE UP

As of last year, these are the actors and characters who remain in the series.

Genie Francis returned to General Hospital in 2022 to continue playing the role of Laura Spencer.

Considered one of Port Charles’ most famous residents, Laura fought the Cassadines to become the city’s new mayor while also coping with her marriage to Luke Spencer and triumphing over murder charges.

The character was first introduced in the series in 1977.

Michael Knight plays the role of Martin Grey, a lawyer and son of Gordon and Florence Grey.

He is also the brother of Cyrus Renault, a drug lord, and the step-brother of newly elected Mayor Laura Collins.

Katelyn MacMullen plays the role of Willow Tait.

Despite appearing on the air this season, fans aren’t quite sure how much longer she’ll be around given her recent diagnosis.

It was first presented in 2018.

Stephen A. Smith took over his role as Brick in General Hospital on January 14, 2022.

Over the years, the ESPN sports reporter has appeared in 20 episodes.

ABC announced in December 2021 that Constance Towers would be returning to General Hospital to reprise her role as Helena Cassadine.

Prior to her return in 2022, she was last seen in February 2020 when Valentin found out he wasn’t a real Cassadine.

She appeared to him then in a ghostly form.

On December 10, 2021, Parry Shen returned to the soap opera to play Brad Cooper, a former General Hospital employee.

Lydia Look took a brief hiatus from her role on General Hospital in late 2021, but returned in 2022.

In true soap opera fashion, the show will bring back another character that fans thought was dead.

On September 1, 2022, it was announced that Chloe Lanier would return as Nelle for a short time.

Lanier returned the week of September 5, but it’s unclear how long her stay will last.
